The greatest value of a picture is when it forces us to notice what we never expected to see.
J. W. Tukey

Structural genomics is a field born of the the marriage between computer science and biology. The goal is to develop new technology - specifically, computer algorithms - to enable the determination of 10,000 new protein structures in 10 years. This would have an enormous impact on our understanding of disease mechanisms, and our ability to target drugs to specific protein targets. If successful, the impact would be comparable to that of the human genome project.
Professor Bruce Donald
Success is the ability to go from failure to failure without losing your enthusiasm.
--- Winston Churchill (1874-1965)
